A Hitch ‘N Time Carriages was started up in March of 2002 by totally addicted horse lovers. The goal of A Hitch ‘N Time is to be able to give an affordable reliable carriage service not only in Mount Dora, but through out Central Florida. While at the same time share our love of horses with everyone. Being in the business of ‘Love’ is such a wonderful experience, but to do it through the use of horses is a dream come true!
Offered is a variety of services from weddings to parties to a romantic get away or history tours in Mount Dora.
Weddings
For our wedding service the carriage can bring in the Bride and her party and then whisk the new Mr. & Mrs. away for that picture perfect Cinderella ending.
From Top Hats & Tails to Spanish Boleros, our attire and decorating options can match all the Bride’s colors, flowers, and themes. One of our favorite options is our personalized “Just Hitched” sign for the back of the carriage that is presented to the Bride and Groom after their ride.
Parades
Red, White & Blue for the Fourth of July or the wearing O’ the green for St. Paddy’s Day; your Grand Marshals or groups of up to 20 people can ride in style for any parade in Central Florida.
Parties
Imagine the delight of your guests when they are entertained at your party by elegant carriage rides around your neighborhood!
Or bring your party to beautiful downtown Mount Dora and have a carriage pick up you and your guests from their Bed & Breakfast and delivered to your favorite restaurant.
Florida Style Christmas Sleigh Rides
During Christmas season in Mount Dora the lights of the town and Donnelly Park take on a magical ambience as you experience them from an open carriage. Snuggle down under our blankets, sip on your hot chocolate and sing your favorite Christmas Carols in time with the hoof beats and jingle bells of our horses.
20 Passenger Adventure Wagon Rides
Our newest addition to our horse drawn vehicles is our Adventure Wagon Also called a hay wagon but without the hay. It can carry up to twenty people and can go on or off road any where in Central Florida for Parades, parties and special events.If you have a theme we can probably come up with the decorations to match. Pulled by our beautiful team of Dapple grey Percherons.
Educational Field trips are now offered at the Cross Florida Greenway Trail and Marjorie Harris Carr Landbridge. The adventure starts at the 475 trailhead and goes West across the Landbridge to the 49th St. trailhead at Belleview Fl..
Groups from home schools, public schools, church groups, retirement centers, clubs, etc… are welcome to inquire as to curriculum and learning opportunities.
Areas of studies can include pioneering, forestry, biology, botany, geology, birding, Trail history etc.. We will work with your group to set up the area of studies that you want to be covered. The ride will cover approximately 3 miles in and 3 miles out and take approximately four hours including a stop for a picnic lunch (Lunch not included). The ride will only be offered once a week on a weekday with prepaid reservations only. Weather is a very important factor in this event. Generally if the weather is going to make both man and beast miserable then we will work to reschedule or refund. We are very excited to be adding this new adventure to our schedule.
